HOLY NAME 65TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL
Holy Name Parish has established an excellent reputation as a sponsor for Festival foods and family attractions and entertainment. The 2026 "presentation" will not disappoint. Much planning and talent sharing over the course of months have been extended by scores of parishioners. Now is the moment for the entire parish to take ownership of this annual parish event. Time, talent and patronage need be generously shared with your parish, the Holy Name Family. Please share the news of this Festival with out-of-town folk. Patronize the Friday and Sunday Dinners!!!
HOURS: Friday 5:00PM to 10:00PM, Saturday Noon to 10:00PM, Sunday Noon to 8:00PM.
MONEY RAFFLE: One of the Main features of our 65th Annual Festival is the Big Money Raffle. We ask each family belonging to Holy Name Parish to return at least one $30.00 book of chances. This unique feature will cement the success of the Annual Festival if each family cooperates. The drawing for over $4,000 in prize money is scheduled for 8:00 PM next Sunday. Please return all raffle tickets to the booth at the festival no later than 3:00PM. Also do not forget to return your Scrip Raffle Tickets as well! These tickets are $2.00 each (3 per family). ALSO, DON’T FORGET TO RETURN YOUR ROCKY GAP TICKETS TOO!
DINNERS: Our parish stands on its fine record of both generous portions of fine food and excellent service. Publicize and patronize the dinners. On Friday FISH DINNERS (FRIED AND BAKED) will be served from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Adults $15.00, children $7.00. Accommodations for "take-outs" of the fish and turkey dinners have been made. Those buying take out dinners will use the same tunnel entrance as used by all other dinner patrons but will be ushered into a separate line, once inside the hall. TURKEY DINNERS will be served Sunday from 11:30 AM until 4:00 PM. Adults $15.00, children $7.00. PLAN TO BRING THE FAMILY! Tickets may be purchased at the door for all dinners.
BASKET RAFFLE: Again this year is our Gigantic Basket Raffle! Approximately 100 beautiful, creative baskets will be raffled; chances this year will be 25 tickets/$5. In addition, this year we are selling chances for big prizes ($3.00 each or 4 for $10.00). Basket tent will close at 7:00PM Sunday evening to begin drawing; all winners will be called as drawing is taking place. Winners can take their baskets home if present. You do not need to be present to win; all winners not present can pick up their basket on Monday morning in the rectory.
DINING ROOM: All persons of the Kitchen and Dining Room Committee are requested to report to the cafeteria no later than one-half hour before the scheduled serving time. Many individuals are needed in the Kitchen and Dining Room to allow for a quick and smooth serving procedure.
SET-UP: Volunteer workers -- as many as possible -- are needed to help set-up for the Festival on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, June 3rd and 4th, beginning at 5:00 PM. ALL chairpersons are to be present Thursday evening to assure that all materials needed for the 3-day operation of their concessions are on site. Help is also needed for tear down on Sunday evening approx. 8:00 PM.
UNDERSTANDING: With an Annual Festival the size and magnitude of our Holy Name event, it is most probable that several or perhaps many names of volunteers have been omitted. We ask Chair people to inform us of our oversights with the possibility of additional names being listed in the bulletin following the Festival.
DONATED FOOD: Parishioners who have not yet brought their donated food items are requested to bring them to the Elevator Lobby off of Alton St. no later than June 4th before 2:00 PM. DO NOT DROP OFF ITEMS IN THE NARTHEX.
PARKING: Please note that there will be reserved parking in front of the church on Friday between Alton & Julian Sts. for take-out only.
FLEA MARKET: the set-up committee will be unpacking boxes in the school beginning Thursday, June 4th. All items should be brought directly to the school or tent the week of the festival. Thanks!
WORKER LISTINGS are now posted on the bulletin board in the Narthex and at each booth; they also can be found on the link below.
