The 2008 Holy Name Parish Mission was held on April 20, 21 and 22.
We are so grateful for the powerful preaching ministry of Fr. Jim Sichko who
spoke to a full church each evening of our Parish Mission. And many thanks to
all who contributed food and service time to the nightly socials. Fr. Sichko
told us that members of his parish at St. Mark’s, Lexington KY, kept vigil
before the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day all three days of our mission. See
what Eucharistic Adoration and prayer can accomplish! May we “drop the stones”
that prevent us from receiving Christ’s love and mercy. May we ask each day for
the grace to “know who we are” in relationship to Christ Jesus. And may we
become “a people of hope,” stepping out in “strong leadership” to draw others
into a life of faith in Christ.
