AN EASTER MESSAGE
Truly the death and resurrection of Jesus is the central proclamation of our
faith. Mary Magdalene came to the tomb looking for the dead Jesus. She met a
Resurrected Jesus!!! She came to that tomb with a broken heart and with many
memories of a compassionate and forgiving Lord, an historical figure. She left
the tomb knowing the Risen Lord, the Promised Messiah.
The disciples, I’m sure, were looking back on the life of Jesus. But once
professing their faith in the Risen Lord, they too became futuristic!! Jesus is
alive! That is the Good News! That is what we believe! That is our Easter
proclamation!! He lives among us. He will come again in glory!!!
To all members of this venerable family at Holy Name, prayerful sentiments are
extended for a Blessed and Happy Easter!!!
GRACE-FILLED LENTEN SEASON THANK YOU
A word of admiration and gratitude for the high numbers of faithful parishioners
who were present for daily Mass during this past Lenten Season. Your parish
priests were also edified with the continuous lines of penitents present for the
Sacrament of Reconciliation during these past six weeks. With the Lord’s grace
may we be motivated to continue to open wide our hearts to the presence of the
Lord Jesus in the Eucharist, and return regularly to the Sacrament of Penance.
SENTIMENTS OF GRATITUDE
Our Holy Week Liturgies ever remain so impressive as the church allows her life
to focus upon the central theme of faith, namely, Resurrection! Liturgical aids,
without prayerful ministries or properly decorated sanctuary, do little to stir
one's satisfaction that God's grace is alive and present to the worshiping
congregation. Profound thanks to Sr. Margie for preparing all lay ministers, and
Fr. Matthew for preparing all altar servers, for the Holy Week services. How
appreciative is your pastor to ever so many parishioners for their countless
hours of involvement which assured the prayerfulness of liturgies, namely,
organists, choir directors, choir members, liturgy committee, altar servers,
lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, church cleaning women and men, feet washing
participants, presenters of offertory gifts, and any and all individuals, who
directly or indirectly involved themselves in adding to the spiritual richness
of this past Holy Week. Sincerest thanks and prayerful gratitude!!
